365 Days of Darkness

EMOTIONAL ABUSE . PHYSICAL ABUSE . SEXUAL EXPLOITATION .

PAIN . SUFFERING . BETRAYAL . CONSPIRACY . 

It was a bitter cold January morning when officers arrived. They found me naked, bruised, bloodied with nothing but a small throw covering only inches of my battered body. First responding officer called for back up and medical. As one officer went to secure my house and the area, emergency responders came to my aid. As emergency responders cleaned me up, asking for my permission to transport me to the local hospital, I could hear the faint discussion between the officers. The officers had agreed- once Jordan was apprehended he’d be arrested and charged with Battery in the 3rd Degree then transported down to the county jail for processing. 

Little did I know I was about to uncover the truth of it all. Little did I know I was up against those very same individuals who are to ‘protect and serve’ Little did I know, the next 365 days would only be in complete darkness. With no light to guide me. With no one to guide me. Little did I know I would be alone. Fighting a war by myself. Little did I know as I stood in my living room as evil lurked and tried to consume me, I would soon have answered to all my questions. Only one question would remain unanswered-

“How does someone press charges or pursue charges against someone who doesn’t exist? Who never existed?”
